Arthur Lago-V - Dance Instructor

Life is just like a Dance:

It’s not about how many steps you do or do not know;

It’s about how much you appreciate the ones you take;

And who you take them with.

Artur Lago-V.

I started my dance training at age of twelve. Since at the time a lot of my friends in my small town were getting into local gangs, my mother enrolled me into a small Ballroom dance studio as a way to keep me away from trouble and to introduce me to a big world of performing arts. Dance helped me to develop self-discipline, avoid trouble on the streets, and see a bigger picture for my life.

At age of twenty-two, I had a great opportunity to come to the United States. Since then, I received my AA in Dance and liberal Arts from Santa Monica College and my BFA in Dance Anatomy and Kinesiology and Theater from CSULB. I also became an ACE certified fitness coach and have been using my creative skill set on many film-sets as a performer, coach, and choreographer.

Whenever not teaching dance or being on a film set, I am sharing my knowledge as a mentor, creative movement and dance coach and choreographer, and performer with Inner City Shakespeare Company to make sure I give back to our young generation what I have been so generously given from all my creative and professional collaborators, mentors, and teachers throughout many years.
